Lyle Lakay - Free kick Master piece against CTC

On the 4th of November, Lyle Lakay did it again! Lakay scored a wonderful free-kick, another one to add to his growing collection. Lyle's left foot is definitely the best at taking free-kicks in the DSTV PSL 2020-21 season. However, the free-kick was straight from the training ground something the 3 Musketeers at the head of Sundowns tactics will be proud of: (1) Manqoba Mngqithi, (2) Rhulani Mokwena, and (3) Steve Kompela.

Analysing What Sundown Did Well during the free-kick

1. First of all we must applaud the brilliant pass from Sphelele Mkhulise and the brilliant running for Shalulile to force a free-kick in a dangerous position.

2. Kermit Erasmus makes a dummy run to confuse the defense.

3. Sphelele Mkhulise plays a good role by making sure no other Cape Town City (CTC) defender stands on the path were the ball will be kicked by Lakay. Moreover, he also blocks the path for CTC player responsible for pressing the ball if free-kick is taken with more than 1 touch.

4. Rivaldo Coetzee plays a beautifully weighted pass for Lackay to shoot.

5. Lyle Lakay, does the hard work and scores the goals but overall the goal was a team goal because without the actions of the other 3 players this goal would have not been possible. Lakay, from a standing position facing away from the goals, is able to turn and take a short run to his left, this movement eliminated the wall and left CTC goals exposed. The connection and the technique were beautiful, what a beautiful goal.




The DSTV Premiership has only played 3 matches but already Lakay's goal is already a contender for goal of the season.

Paul Rothmans Cup Dolezar one of the best foreign coaches to coach in SA

Who is Paul Dolezar? Paul Dolezar was once a coach of the mighty Amakhosi and Mamelodi Sundowns. In his short spells coaching in South Africa (SA) he managed to win the Rothmans cup 3 times, a league title with Mamelodi Sundowns , and in 2005 the SAA Supa 8  with Bloemfontein Celtic FC  which had not won a cup in 20 years.
